DelfinGroup and LSKA support seniors through community visit in Rūjiena

At the end of last week, employees of DelfinGroup and members of the Latvian Senior Community Association (LSKA) went on a joint trip to the Rūjiena Senior Home, fostering intergenerational dialogue and promoting social inclusion.

The collaboration with LSKA is a significant part of DelfinGroup corporate social responsibility, and this time it was reinforced through a meaningful in-person visit to the Rūjiena Senior Home. The main goal of the initiative was to strengthen ties between generations while reaffirming the company’s commitment to being present and accessible to the more vulnerable segments of society — particularly seniors. DelfinGroup provides not only financial assistance, but also personal engagement and practical support

Throughout the day, participants visited several local attractions in Rūjiena — including a church, an exhibition hall, and scenic parts of the town. The event was organized to ensure full participation also for seniors with mobility limitations. The outing offered DelfinGroup employees a closer look at the everyday life of seniors, the specific nature of care home operations, and a deeper understanding of the real-life circumstances many older people in Latvia face. This experience allows the company to more thoughtfully assess its role and opportunities in the field of social responsibility, while providing seniors with a sense of recognition and safety.

“Initiatives like these are meaningful to both sides — they help companies understand the real situation in Latvia and consider how to engage more effectively. For seniors, it creates a sense of being seen, heard, and valued,” said Sanda Šapale, Head of Communications at DelfinGroup

“We are truly grateful that together with DelfinGroup, we were able to offer the residents of the Rūjiena Senior Home — especially those in wheelchairs — a joyful and memorable day. The visit to the church and the walk through Rūjiena’s streets were filled with kindness and warmth, bringing joy to all involved. We are also happy that very soon, new benches — funded by DelfinGroup donation — will be installed in the senior home’s courtyard,” said Lilita Kalnāja, Chairwoman of the Board of the Latvian Senior Community Association.

According to DelfinGroup corporate social responsibility guidelines, the company’s long-term support is focused on two key societal groups — seniors and children. This commitment is brought to life through targeted, long-term initiatives in cooperation with the Latvian Senior Community Association and the Children’s Hospital Foundation. The collaboration includes both financial assistance and hands-on practical involvement.
