With support of AS DelfinGroup, free training will be provided for youngsters to increase their competitiveness in labour market
Already this week, with the support of the Latvian financial service company AS DelfinGroup, more than 200 young individuals from all over Latvia will start free training with the purpose to acquire new digital skills and increase their competitiveness in the labour market. The training course Learn the industry: digital marketing will take place in hybrid form, thus providing an opportunity to acquire knowledge for a wide group of interested people across Latvia.
The training is organised by the social enterprise and youth opportunities platform Visas Iespējas and the organisation Delve, with the aim to promote the successful integration of young people into the work environment - especially those, who would not otherwise be able to participate in such training due to material constraints, their location or other circumstances. There’s been high interest in the training - more than 350 young people from more than 30 cities of Latvia have applied.
“The remote learning format is the future, and the current situation has shown that many companies, government and educational institutions are ready and able to work productively in this way. We are the ones, who want to take a step towards the future and help young people adapt to changes and requirements in the Latvian labour market - and this is just the beginning!” says Gustavs Mārtiņš Upmanis, the founder of Visas Iespējas.
“Training provides youngsters with the opportunity to acquire knowledge valued in today's labour market, increasing their chances of finding a job, including the opportunity to work remotely. These competencies are not only valuable in the context of the Covid-19 situation, they also provide new job opportunities for young people in regions where suitable job opportunities are more limited,” explains Ivars Lamberts, Management board member of AS DelfinGroup. “AS DelfinGroup, as a socially responsible company, actively participates in building a sustainable society, providing opportunities for people and promoting inclusion, diversity, equality and prosperity and that is incorporated in our Social Responsibility Guidelines as well. We are certain, that by giving the youngsters knowledge and skills today, the whole society will benefit in the long run, therefore we intend to support initiatives like this in future .”
The course Learn the industry: digital marketing offers free training for young people aged 16 to 24, providing the necessary knowledge and practical skills to work in one of today's most promising industries - digital marketing. The classes will be conducted by graphic designer and videographer at Gamechanger Audio Alise Golovacka, and many experienced specialists from Latvia and abroad will participate as guest lecturers - social network manager and content creator from Swiss Post Sarah Belgacem, influencer and video content creator Edgars Feščenko (Fresh), digital strategist Aniel Bhaga, creator of the digital community EcomHub Gustavs Gotauts, and other experts of digital marketing. During the course of the month, young people will learn about digital marketing, social media analytics tools, preparing videos and stories, as well as social network management and graphic design. Great emphasis will be placed on practical knowledge and working in small groups, when developing marketing strategies for various start-ups. The youngsters will present the final work to the jury, who are also potential employers, so presentation of the work may result in real job offer after the training.
